Proposed Rules Signed Implementing the Deficit Reduction Act Concerning Medicaid Assistance for Long-Term Care

Illinois, one of the last states to implement the Deficit Reduction Act of 2005 (DRA), has issued proposed regulations to put the law in effect in the state.
The state's Department of Healthcare and Family Services is proposing to apply the DRA's transfer rules to any transfers occurring after February 8, 2006, the date of the DRA's enactment. The Department is inviting written comments, and a public hearing is scheduled for September 13.
